Good news. I passed my CISSP exam. The exam was a little harder then I expected but doable. Now that I'm (almost) an official CISSP, it's time to earn CPE credits. The term “CPE” is an acronym for “Continuing Professional Education” points. If you earn 120 point in three years, you don't have to retake the exam to stay certified. If you visit (ISC²) on the Web, you'll find a list of qualifying CPE activities that include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Attending educational courses or seminars
- Attending security conferences
- Being an active member of an association chapter
- Listening to vendor presentations
- Completing university/college courses
- Providing security training
- Publishing security articles or books
- Serving on industry boards
- Self-study
- Volunteer work, including (ISC)² volunteer committee
I think it's a good thing you have to prove that you're active in the field and keeping your knowledge up to date.

Volunteer to be on the Board of a Non-Profit security organization. While it takes some commitment - you get recognized more within the community and receive up to 40 CPE points/year.
