Will mobile devices take over the world?

From iPhoneworld.ca:

Well, it’s been almost a year since the iPhone was released. Nobody blames you, iPhone, for not even nearing Windows’ dominant position as 91.46% the world market share of operating systems.

Third, was Linux (People still use that?), which is likely ontop of the iPhone due to being a PC operating system. Fourth, but not least, the iPhone with 0.13%. Still, it’s grown so much since it was brought to the market, and will only keep growing in popularity.

With the iPhone’s possible upcoming release in Spain and Switzerland, we’ll have to see how even more of the world officially reacts to this growing trend of handset technology.

As mobile devices become smaller and faster and gain functionality, more people will adopt them. Storage in these devices has easily passed the GigaByte mark and some can contain 160GB of data (if you take the latest iPod classic). Forget your DMZ and firewalls as these will get past your physical and logical defense perimeters. For the moment, it's a bit overhyped but mobile malware will become more dangerous. But data loss/leakage is the biggest threat at the moment. More to follow on that subject.
