My Desktop Security Presentation

I didn't have much time to blog in the last couple of days. I got the opportunity to give a presentation at a local security conference. They were looking for someone to talk about desktop security. This was a perfect opportunity to set my newfound knowledge on presentation skills into practice. I didn't have any experience as a speaker so this was a nice first experience. The slides are quite graphical and you need me to complete the story. I got some positive feedback from the audience afterwards. I hope you like them as much and feel free to give some comments. Practice makes perfect and a journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. Here it is:

PS: I gave a demonstration of the winlockpwn tool using firewire and the crowd went wild.

Benny,

That was actually a good presentation for a first time. I'd loved to see you delve deeper into the counter-measures, especially HIPS but also the quick-wins like using the right privileged account and using GPO's to control desktop environments in a corporate environment. Maybe covering Citrix and desktop virtualization would have been a nice addendum too.

You did good :-) as you do here too.

Keep up the great work to raise awareness and keep our world secure.

looks like it was a good presentation, wish you had put more "talking points" on the slides though, but incentive to be there :-)

This was my 'display' slide.... normally, I should have made handout notes (or slides) and put those online.

But because of lack of time, I never made the handout version that would make more sense online.

So yes, people should have been there! ;-)
