It is interesting to see the discussion about the generation gap. Some of the comments point towards blocking social networking sites is not the solution. Generation Y uses these tools everyday and are accustomed to use them to be more productive. As Bruce Schneier says "the young people will win because the old people will eventually die". Morbid but funny with a dash of truth. How about security? Well, as the lady said in the end: training and culture. Or as I would say: People, Processes and Products. Make the people understand the importance of protecting data.
Some time ago, I heard on the radio about a Belgian study on the use of speeding cameras. The study showed that using these measures and giving people fines, actually didn't make them drive more safely. Because in the end, you are not making people understand why. You are just punishing them.
Social media can also be used as a way to connect to your customers. More to follow on this topic.

Business Week recently published an article about the power of social media and how companies are beginning to embrace it, because they really don’t have a choice.
