First court case for wifi stealing in Belgium

In the beginning of April, the Belgian press reported a man being arrested for sitting in his car and using the access point of a neighbor. But there weren't much details at the time what exactly happened.

The suspect now appeared before court and we know some more details.

A 22 year old man with Polish nationality regularly parked his car in the same street to use the open access point of a neighbor with his laptop. His internet usage eventually amounted to the point that the internet wasn't available anymore to his victims.

The police got a lead to his activities from another person who found it suspicious that this man was always parked in the same street with his laptop.

It's the first court case of this kind in Belgium which can amount up to one year of prison for this man.
